Mathematics

PS527 uses enVision Math  which focuses on Problem-Based Learning, where students must think critically about a real-world math problem, evaluate options, collaborate, and present solutions.  This is followed by Visual Learning to solidify the underlying math concepts.  All of this is meant to build strong conceptual understanding in mathematics, following the Next Generation Learning Standards.

By using the many interactive activities that involve technology, collaborative learning, and enrichment, teachers are able to provide differentiated instruction during daily lessons to maximize the success of all learners. In addition, students participate in math talks to work with their peers to solve real-world math problems and see how math is integrated in our lives.
