P.S. 527 PTA

The PTA’s mission is to build community among families, staff, and students and to raise money to support the educational and social goals of our school. We promote an environment where our dedicated teachers and administrators can do their best work and our students can do their best learning.

If you are a parent or guardian of a child enrolled at PS 527, you are automatically a PTA member, and are entitled to participate and vote at our monthly PTA meetings. No membership fees are required.

PTA fundraising supports the many enrichment programs that are at the heart of what makes our school such a unique and nurturing place. The following initiatives would not happen without your support:

• Fully equipped Science Lab, Music Room and Art Studio with dedicated specialty teachers

• Physical Education instructor, aide and equipment; Asphalt Green recess coaches

• Reading and Math Intervention Specialists as well as Assistant Teachers so that all classes in grades K-2 have at least two full time teachers

• Enrichment Programs like 92NY, Mathletics, Raz Kids, Art Farm, New York Historical Society & More

• Smartboard licensing, technology and classroom upgrades (furniture, rugs and equipment)

The PTA relies on parent volunteers to help us meet our fundraising and community building goals. There are many ways to get involved, whether you volunteer at Book Fair or Winter Carnival, help fundraise, or become involved in the PTA Executive Board, your participation is welcomed and encouraged. It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us!
